This firm is very knowledgeable about franchising and Mr. Franchise is a pleasure to work with. He returns calls and emails promptly. Besides being a franchise attorney expert, his MBA and former franchise owner background gives clients an in-depth analysis of the business as well as legal aspects of operating a franchise company. His management training was excellent. Two thumbs up!!
Read my comments below about how they helped our company avoid a major strategic mistake (selling disguised franchises that we were going to call "licenses"), put us on the right, legal path and are there to answer business and legal questions whenever they come up. Watch out for attorneys (and consultants) who say you can save a lot of money by selling "licenses" instead of franchises. They don't know what they're talking about and have gotten a lot of companies in trouble.
Mr. Franchise, a franchise attorney with an MBA, who owned a franchise, also trained our staff in how to effectively operate a franchise company, set up various sales control and compliance programs as well as detect and avoid legal pitfalls so they don't incubate into future lawsuits. The franchise management training is worth every penny!
The firm helped me evaluate an existing franchise that was for sale by the owner. Mr. Franchise found a host of issues (including bad financials) and problems (bad franchise contract provisions) that saved me from losing a $300,000 investment. He was also able to get back the deposit I'd given the seller. Besides the legal, his business advice was first rate. Highly recommend.
This company helped me evaluate a franchise investment and saved me from making a terrible mistake that would have cost my family over $250,000. They have a very affordable service called FDD Evaluator that evaluates a company's Franchise Disclosure Document and gives a thumbs up or down, along with detailed reasons for a flat $500 fee. They also give you a list of unfair provisions in the contract you'd want to negotiate before moving foward. I've discovered that just because a franchise company has an FDD registered with the state, it means nothing. Their head guy Mr. Franchise who does the reviewing is a franchise attorney MBA who also owned and operated a franchise. So he gives you excelleng legal as well as business advice. Highly recommend. Excellent franchise consulting firm that provides high quality work at reasonable rate.
Their head guy, known in the industry as "Mr. Franchise" (google him) is a nationally-known franchise expert, instructor, franchise attorney, teacher and author. He consulted with a large franchisor I used to work for (Carl's Jr. - CKE), helped us fine tune our legal docs and manuals, trained our marketing and management teams in effective franchise marketing techniques and gave us a lot of excellent ongoing advice.
They also help individuals evaluate franchise investments and franchise disclosure documents.

They helped us correct a major strategic mistake (a disguised franchise - we were trying to go cheap by calling it a "license"), got our company on the right path and are always there when we need their advice. Mr. Franchise's management training in how to run a franchise company and avoid legal pitfalls is worth every penny.
