Kukje is the best Korean supermarket in SF and the East Bay. The selection is amazing, and they have some of the most random things. Just incase you need a portable butane cooker, you can get one for $20 and extra fuel canisters for $2 apiece, perfect for cooking water for shin ramyun while camping.
They have very good produce, a bar with a variety of side dishes (banchan), and of course the marinated meats ready for cooking. The entire back is dedicated to meats and seafood. The kimchee selection is pretty good, but it can be tough to find a properly ripened one that's immediately sour enough for jjigae or bokeum.
