Senior Quality Engineer
Oakland or Campbell, California
We are seeking a qualified candidate able to perform automated and manual, black, gray, and white box testing on a multitude of different applications. The candidate must be able to use product specifications to define, design and implement test plans, test frames (test suites), test design documents, test cases (manual and/or automated). This candidate would work on a highly skilled Quality Engineering team able to work independently and with other engineering and product team members as well.
Responsibilities:
- Log and regress bugs in various types of applications
- Utilize Defect Density Analysis, Problem Isolation, and other metrics based test-related methodologies
- Work closely with development and other quality engineers
- Work under accelerated software development cycles and help ensure that shipped products meet rigorous standards of quality and are delivered on time
- Coordinate projects of significantly large scope or scale which are key to the success of the organization and team
- Significantly contribute to the success of projects of either large or small scope or scale which are key to the success of the organization and team
Requirements:
- Four to eight years of experience in quality assurance, quality engineering, or development of enterprise applications on Windows, Solaris, or Linux operating systems platforms
- Ability to execute testing from a schedule
- Ability to execute testing using available QE Test Plans
- Ability to architect QE Test Plans
- Ability to design and implement manual test and regression frameworks
- Ability to design and implement automated test and regression frameworks utilizing Segue SilkTest tool
- Ability to design and implement manual and/or automated test specifications from existing state machines
- Ability to design and implement manual and/or automated test specifications from existing human interface state machines (UI flows)
- Experience developing and executing continuous improvement processes
- Experience with enterprise product protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP, CGI, TCP/IP, UDP, SQL, ODBC, etc)
- Experience with enterprise product development (HTML, XML, Java, JSP, Containers, Servlets, Beans, Thin Clients, SQL Databases, Apache MODs, IIS/ISAPI, Perl, Bean Shell, etc)
- Experience with enterprise product frameworks (System Mgt or Large Scale Data Visualization interfaces, Large Data Model Paradigms, etc)
- Experience with web2.0
- Experience designing, building, and then supporting a test lab
- Experience working within a CMM/ISO-9000 based development process
- Experience using QA Databases and familiarity with automated and manual bug regression
- Experience with human interface development processes
- Experience with high to low level system calls
- Experience with driver and UI testing
- Experience with test equipment technology
- Must be accustomed to working in a team-oriented, fast paced, self-sufficient environment
- Strong analytical and oral/written communication skills
