Assist the Program Coordinator with management of a residential living facility for adult male parolees with drug and/or alcohol addiction issues. Will also serve as a Substance Abuse Counselor and be responsible for substance abuse services, case management, situation counseling and drug testing.
Additional responsibilities:
1. Intake and assessments of parolees.
2. Utilize the community resources available to help parolees carry out their goals.
3. Encourage parolee to be pro-active in his own recovery.
4. Make recovery and exit plans for each parolee.
5. Do weekly one on one counseling session with each parolee.
6. Follow-up with special needs of parolees with Supervisor.
7. Supervise the facility and the monitors in the evening.
8. Enforce rules and regulations.
9. Perform weekly drug tests and log test results.
10. Organize and maintain weekly log sheets.
11. Follow-up on waiting list and fill vacant beds from list.
12. Be physically available to all parolees.
13. Establish rapport with parolees.
14. Lead or moderate group discussion with parolees once a week.
15. Meet with the Program Coordinator once a week to review the management of the facility.
Preferred Qualifications are:
1. Bachelor of Science degree in related fields.
2. Certification as an alcohol and other drug addiction recovery specialist.
3. Two years of experience with adult male parolees.
4. Excellent communications skills with ability to work one on one.
5. Ability to work with a diverse and multi-cultural population.
6. Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel plus internet skills.
7. Valid California Drivers License with reliable personal transportation.
Assistant Program Manager shall provide individual and group counseling to address alcohol and substance abuse issues, including abstinence, relapse prevention, communication and problem solving. Assist parolees with family, social or other personal problems. Assistant Program Manager shall also provide written case notes for parolee sessions. Shall organize and lead social and recreational activities to teach productive ways to use leisure time without engaging in substance abuse or criminal behavior.
The Assistant Program Manager's immediate supervisor shall be the Program Coordinator. You will always report to the Program Coordinator for any questions or concerns regarding this position. Execution of all duties and responsibilities shall be preformed on program site with the exception of outside extra curricular activities. These activities shall be presented to the Program Coordinator via a “sit down” meeting and in writing. This shall be done within at least seven (7) working days prior to the proposed activity.
