The Senior Software Architect provides technical consultation and acts as a technical advisor towards related teams, product programs and product management. The main focus is to define, document and maintain the Community Platform (Arena) software architecture. The Senior Software Architect initiates and manages architecture studies with the special focus on getting the specification work defined and done in synchronized with the product planning and roadmapping. Work is done in close cooperation with product management to take care that architecturally significant information is incorporated into requirements and software managers so that they are able to effectively manage the projects.
Related software development organizations and external suppliers also produce architecture design documentation. The role of the architect is to summarize all activities in product software architecture documents. The purpose is to identify potential conflicts and find commonalities between different projects. The intent is to increase the productivity of the whole software creation ensuring that subsystems are interoperable and increasing reuse of the existing software asset.
Requirements:
You should have typically 10 years relevant experience. You have background in software engineering. High level understanding of S60 and Symbian OS architecture is required. Background in software engineering is necessary, and Symbian programming experience highly desired.
Object oriented design techniques are used in the architecture documentation. You need to be able to present architecture designs using UML.
You are able to work independently and show your own initiative. You find information sources quickly and use them to get high level understanding on the functionality and architecture. You possess the ability to put things in larger contexts. Good communication skills are necessary.
Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory.
