Equine legal advice WANTED / liability release for rider (dublin / pleasanton / livermore)

San Francisco, CA • 08/31/2007

I'm an experienced rider. As a hobby, I ride / train horses owned by others which means I'm usually asked to sign a Liability Release form for the horse owner or a Release and Hold Harmless Agreement. That's fine with me, except I'm tired of deciphering their often ominous verbage.

I'm looking for a form that I could offer instead - that protects me as a rider and still is fair to both parties.

I fully understand & acknowledge the danger of handling and/or riding horses. However, I don't want to be held liable for injury (or death?) of the horse, other people, or property damage, unless it was indeed caused by negligence on my part.

Anyone out there that can help or knows someone who can?

Thank you

:)
