Production Team Member (berkeley)

If you're a sharp, detailed-oriented team player who enjoys group juggling of multiple deadlines, this position may be for you. Do you have plenty of hands-on production experience, a keen eye for the misplaced comma, and a fondness for learning new computer techniques? Do you use Quark? Are you familiar with HTML and CSS? A modicum of knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator is desirable, but this is not primarily a design position. Familiarity with UNIX, Mac OS X, a database, and the usual desktop applications would be very helpful. A sense of humor would not come amiss.



The highly deadline-driven day-to-day work of the production team includes shared creation and constant updating of the organization's Web sites; editing, typesetting, and proofreading a wide variety of print and Web materials; optimizing photos and preflighting files for print production; checking printer's proofs; creating Web buttons, reworking ads, and other small design projects.



This is a full-time position. Hours are flexible; evening and weekend work from home is occasionally necessary. Some travel may be required.
