We are seeking a Distribution Center Assistant Manager to help lead our Richmond DC team. We've recently relocated distribution/fulfillment operations to a landmark, mixed-use former Ford assembly plant overlooking the San Francisco bay.





The ideal candidate is a strong team builder and leader, creative problem solver, possesses great customer service and communication skills and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Sound motivational, management (2-3 years' experience in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment) and developmental skills are required to assist our DC Manager in running our light warehouse with 50+ employees. Your primary objective will be to take part in a team that provides 100% order accuracy and 100% on-time delivery to our customers at the lowest possible cost. This position is a hub of activity and we require a ''hands on'' individual who can think on her/his feet. Knowledge of a complete warehouse operation; including shipping and receiving, stocking of finished goods, floored inventory control, stock rotation, and carrier shipping (UPS, FedEx, LTL, Truckload) and be forklift certified.





Additionally, you must have extensive experience with


* pick/pack and ship


* receiving


* inventory control


* logistics


* time studies


* material handling metrics


* space utilization


* maintaining a safe working environment


* prior budgetary responsibilities


* operations with groups of people 50+


* meeting deadlines and prioritizing workloads effectively





Also, you will occasionally be asked to


* maintain and organize a well-kept warehouse


* coordinate details and staff for special projects like warehouse reorganizations, physical inventory, building new primary locations/shelving


* perform some manual labor like building shelves, moving pallets, lifting boxes, unloading trucks, etc.


* assist in basic HR functions including interviewing, reviewing applications, checking references, hiring, etc.


* help with anywhere from elementary to in-depth training in various departments.


* learn order processing, basic receiving of tickets and returns processing in order to help in those departments when needed.


* minor facilities management


* time sheet reconciliation.
