Nonprofit worker seeking vegetarian household (SOMA / south beach)

San Francisco, CA • 08/21/2007

Aloha,

I work in the East Bay so I'm seeking a room that is within a very short bike ride to BART so that I can commute reasonably quickly in the mornings/evenings.

I'm a friendly, mellow surfer guy who is seeking housing with responsible, mature people. I work at an environmental nonprofit and have mostly worked in nonprofits in between stints at graduate school. I've been in the Bay Area for 2 years and have lived all over the US though Hawaii is home in my heart. I'm a male in my mid-30s and would prefer people of similar age (mature, responsible adults basically).

I like a clean house and I'm not fanatical about it. With my busy work schedule, I'd prefer to pull our money together for cleaning person unless you've worked out a great system to take care of chores.

When I'm not busy with work - which is rare - I enjoy the outdoors. I surf, bike, kayak, hike, and do some other fun way to experience nature. I do like to go out with my friends at night to live music, dive bars, and cheap restaurants. I watch a lot of films when I'm home taking it easy. I get a CSA organic veggies box weekly and love to cook when I can.

My preferences are for a vegetarian household with progressive or liberal roommates who are environmentally-friendly (minimum of recycling and composting while using biodegradable cleaning products). Definitely seeking a nonsmoking or outdoor only smoking household. I enjoy the friendly get together now and then, but definitely don't want to live in a major partying atmosphere unless my room is away from it all.

I'd also prefer to live in a place without dogs or cats, but I'm flexible if you have a mellow pet. I love dogs and cats, but ideally would not live with any now. Smaller pets OK.

I'm on a month to month arrangement where I live now and can move when I find the right situation, but would like to move around September, October, or November at the latest. I'd rather not rush and end up somewhere less than ideal so I'm starting this process now to find some fun and friendly people to share a space with in the city.

Mahalo!
